The Sauce Drop Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 24.07.2026

1. Who we are

ROWDY ("ROWDY", "we", "us", "our") is [ROWDY / DL Rowden].
We are a registered food business with Mid Sussex District Council and produce from an approved kitchen in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
Contact: hello@rowdysauce.co.uk  ·  www.rowdysauce.co.uk

2. Your agreement to these terms

By submitting your details on the waitlist form or the order form, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms, and that you agree to us collecting, holding and using your information as described in section 10.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not submit either form.

3. What a Sauce Drop is

ROWDY sauces are made fresh in small batches and released in limited Drops. Each Drop has its own order window, its own stock allocation, and its own collection dates. There is no continuous ordering — sauces are available only during an open Drop, and only while stock lasts.

Waitlist — a list of people who have asked to be told about upcoming Drops first.
Drop — a defined period during which orders are accepted for a defined quantity of stock.
Order Form — the form issued at the start of each Drop through which orders are placed.
Collection — in-person handover of your order at a location, date and time slot you select when ordering.

4. Joining the waitlist

Joining the waitlist is free and places you under no obligation to buy.

Waitlist members are notified of each Drop before it is announced publicly, and have a priority ordering window of 48 hours before ordering opens more widely. Being on the waitlist does not reserve stock, guarantee availability, or guarantee a particular collection location or time slot. Waitlist priority is personal to you and cannot be transferred or sold.

You can leave the waitlist at any time by emailing hello@rowdysauce.co.uk .

5. Placing an order

Orders are placed by completing the Order Form issued for that Drop. Each Order Form states:

  • the products available

  • the price of each item

  • the order cut-off date and time for that Drop

  • the collection dates, locations and time slots available

  • the maximum quantity per person, if one applies

These details change with every Drop.

The details published on the current Order Form are the ones that apply to your order.

Submitting the Order Form is a request to buy, not a confirmed sale. A contract between you and ROWDY is formed only when we confirm your order by email and payment has been received in full (see section 6).

  • Order cut-offs and stock

Orders close at the cut-off stated on the Order Form, or earlier if stock sells out. Because our sauces are made to order in limited batches, we may close a Drop at any point once allocated stock is committed.

If we cannot fulfil your order — for example because stock has sold out between your submission and our confirmation, or because a production or supply issue prevents us making the batch — we will tell you as soon as possible and refund any payment already taken in full. Where only part of your order is affected, we will offer you the remainder or a full refund; we will not substitute a different product without asking you first.

We may limit the quantity any one person can order in a Drop, and we may decline or cancel an order at our discretion.

  • Getting your details right

We contact you by email, and by phone or text on collection day. Please check that the email address and phone number you give us are correct — if your payment link or collection details don't reach you because the details you gave were wrong, we can't hold your stock or refund an expired order. If you spot a mistake after submitting, email us straight away at hello@rowdysauce.co.uk .

  • Ordering for someone else

You're welcome to order as a gift or on someone else's behalf. If you do, it is your responsibility to pass on the allergen and storage information in section 9 to whoever will be eating the sauce.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are as stated on the Order Form for the Drop in question and are inclusive of any applicable tax. Prices may change between Drops.

After you submit your order we will email you a confirmation together with a payment link.

  • Payment must be made in full via that link.

  • Payment links expire 48 hours after being sent.
If payment is not received before the link expires, your order is not confirmed and the stock will be released to other customers.

  • Your order is only secured once payment clears. We will send a second confirmation with your final collection location and details at that point.

We do not accept cash at collection.

Any discount codes or promotional offers are subject to their own stated conditions, cannot be used in combination unless we say so, and have no cash value.

7. Collection

All orders are collected in person. Unless otherwise agreed via the order for and in writing.

  • Choosing your slot

You select your collection location and time slot when you order. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.

  • Location viability

If a collection location or time has to change due to unforeseen circumstances, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer an alternative location and time, or a full refund if none work for you.

  • Confirmation and reminders

We will confirm your exact collection address and time by email once payment is received, and send you a reminder the day before collection.

If you can't make it. Please tell us as soon as possible. We will do our best to offer an alternative slot within the same collection week, but we cannot guarantee one.

  • Someone else collecting.

A friend or family member can collect on your behalf — just tell us their name in advance by emailing us hello@rowdysauce.co.uk or in the Order Form question box.

  • If you can't make it

Please tell us as soon as possible. We will do our best to offer an alternative slot within the same collection week, but we cannot guarantee one.

  • Missed collections

Because our sauces are fresh, chilled and made to order, we produce, pack and allocate your stock specifically for you, and we cannot safely hold, re-chill or resell it once your collection window has passed. If you do not collect your order during your allocated slot, and we have not agreed an alternative collection in writing, your order is treated as fulfilled in full and no refund, credit or replacement will be given. This applies regardless of the reason for non-collection.

  • Keeping it cold

We can provide paper bags only at collection. Where possible, please bring a cool bag and refrigerate your sauces below 5°C as soon as you get home. Once your order has been handed to you, responsibility for storing it correctly passes to you.

8. Changes, cancellations and refunds

  • Changing your order

Contact us at hello@rowdysauce.co.uk as soon as possible. We can usually amend an order up to the cut-off time for that Drop, subject to stock. After the cut-off, production is committed and we generally cannot make changes, but we will try our best to.

  • Your right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the usual 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase does not apply to goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. Our sauces are fresh, chilled and perishable, so this exemption applies and orders cannot be cancelled for a change of mind once payment has been taken and production has been committed.

  • This does not affect your legal rights

If your sauces are faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you are entitled to a refund or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please contact us within 24 hours of collection, with a photograph if possible, and we will put it right.

  • If we cancel

If we cancel a Drop or cannot fulfil your order, you will receive a full refund. Refunds are made to the original payment method and typically take 3–5 working days to appear.

9. Product information, allergens and storage

Full ingredient, nutritional and allergen information for every sauce is available at www.rowdysauce.co.uk/our-products and is reproduced below. It is also printed on the pack you collect.

Please read the allergen information before ordering. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, it is your responsibility to check this information, and to contact us at hello@rowdysauce.co.uk before placing an order if anything is unclear.

Because we cook in small batches with fresh produce, there may be slight natural variation in colour, texture and consistency between batches. Nutritional values are typical.

10. Your data

By submitting the waitlist form or the order form, you agree to us collecting and holding your information as set out below. ROWDY is the data controller for this information.

What we collect

  • Waitlist: your name, email address, phone number, postcode, preferred collection location, and an indication of what you're likely to order.

  • Orders: your name, email address, phone number, order details, chosen collection location and time slot, and a record of payment (we receive confirmation that payment was made — we never see or store your card or bank details, which are handled entirely by online banking services).

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

Purpose - Lawful basis

Processing and fulfilling your order, arranging collection, contacting you about your order - Performance of a contract

Planning production volumes and choosing collection locations (postcode and order intentions) - Legitimate interests

Sending you Drop announcements and marketing emails - Your consent

Keeping records for food safety, tax and accounting - Legal obligation

Marketing

We will only send you Drop announcements and marketing emails if you have opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing hello@rowdysauce.co.uk . Withdrawing consent will not affect any order already in progress — we will still contact you about an order you have placed, as we need to in order to fulfil it.

How we look after it

Your information is held securely in access-controlled systems and is accessible only to those in the business who need it to fulfil orders.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use the following service providers to run the business, who process data on our behalf: Google (forms and spreadsheets), Revolut (payments), and Mailerlite (emails). We may disclose information where we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist and marketing data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or after 36 months of no engagement.

  • Order and transaction records: for 10 years, for tax and accounting purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Email hello@rowdysauce.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

11. Photography, reviews and social media

We'd love you to share your ROWDY cooking. If you tag us or send us a photo, you're giving us permission to reshare it on our own channels with credit to you. Tell us at any time if you'd like something taken down and we will remove it.

We may take photographs at collection points. If you'd prefer not to appear in them, just say so on the day.

We may email you after a Drop to ask how it went. That's optional and you don't have to reply.

The ROWDY name, logo, recipes, photography and website content belong to us and may not be reproduced commercially without our permission.

12. Our liability

We take food safety seriously and comply with our HACCP plan and all applicable food hygiene regulations.

We are not liable for problems arising from your storage or handling of the product after collection, or from a failure to check the allergen information before ordering.

13. Events outside our control

We are a small kitchen. Occasionally something happens that we cannot reasonably plan around — illness, ingredient supply failure, equipment breakdown, extreme weather, or a venue withdrawing a collection location at short notice. If that affects a Drop, we will contact you as soon as we can and offer either a place in the next Drop or a full refund. We are not liable for any further loss in these circumstances.

14. General

  • Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. Material changes will be flagged in the Drop announcement email.

  • Severability.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

No waiver. If we don't insist on a term on one occasion, that doesn't mean we've given it up.

  • Transfer

You may not transfer your order or your place in a Drop to someone else without telling us.

15. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.

If something has gone wrong, please tell us first — email hello@rowdysauce.co.uk and we'll aim to respond within two working days.
